Beginning in the spring of 2010, Prepared 4 Life will give Houston-area children something new, dynamic and fun to do after-school. Building on the success of Lemonade Day, Prepared 4 Life is “sweetening” the program by offering the “Lemonade Day Experience!” to students at an estimated 40 Houston-area middle-schools.  Students will have the opportunity to register for a 15 week after-school curriculum intended to teach the fundamentals of sound business and financial management.

This fun and experiential course, taught by trained college students, will teach basic business practices to approximately 25 students per class. Local community and business leaders will be invited to speak to a class on subject matter that will promote further excitement and enthusiasm among the participants. The youth will receive instruction on a variety of topics including:

• Goal Setting
• Business Plan Development
• Banking
• Financing/Loan Applications
• Accounting
• Sales and Brand Marketing
• Site Selection
• Design/Construction of Lemonade Stands
• Purchasing and Comparison Shopping
• Community Giving
